Nile FC United wins Total E&P Uganda Buliisa football league

Nile United FC from Ngwedo Sub County have emerged champions of the 2nd Edition of the Total E&P Uganda mini football league, 2015. This after they triumphed over X-International FC 3-1 goals in the final match that was played at Ndandamire primary school in Kigwera sub county, Buliisa district on Thursday November 26, 2015.

The team received a trophy, medals, a bull, and the Awango by Total solar lamps, handed over to the team by the General Manager of Total E&P Uganda Mr. Adewale Fayemi. In attendance were the representative of Buliisa RDC, Emmy Katusabe and Dr. Joseph Kobusheshe, Head of Health Safety and Environment in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals Development.

The Total E&P Uganda mini football league 2015 attracted 8 teams from Ngwedo and Kigwera sub counties in Buliisa district. Adewale hailed the eight (8) participating teams; Ajigo Central FC, Katanga, Ngwedo United FC, Kichoke FC, Nile United FC, Lake Stars FC, Ex-International FC and Total E&P FC. The matches were played in a very friendly and entertaining manner that ended without any serious injuries to the players.

As the runners up, X-International FC received two goats, medals and awango by Total solar lamps while Katanga FC and Ajigo Central FC who were in the 3rd and 4thpositions respectively each received a goat and certificates

“Once again, the Buliisa mini-football league has availed to us, Total E&P Uganda yet another opportunity to learn by revealing to us the many ways in which we can work together with our neighbouring communities to not only build mutually beneficial and lasting relationships but also enhance the culture of open communication between the company and its stakeholders”, Total General Manager Adewale remarked.

“As part of our continued commitment to the development of sportsmanship in Buliisa, we have also refurbished two football pitches at Ajigo Rhino and Kasenyi village playgrounds. This is in addition to the two (2) pitches refurbished last year 2014 at Ndandamire primary school and Kilyango Primary school. The company will also provide 3,000 school bags to 3 schools as part of the events surrounding this football mini-league before this term ends,” Total General Manager announced.

The Total E&P Uganda mini football league kicked-off on October 29th, 2015 under the management of Buliisa Football Association, and ended on November 26th, 2015
